1. What is Presence?
Presence is the instantaneous knowledge that someone is
available, online and reachable via instant messaging.
PresenceWorks enables this knowledge to be embedded into any
application.
When people turn on their instant messengers, presence is
made available to others in the form of a buddy list. But buddy
lists are limited to a maximum of one hundred and fifty names.
Worse, buddy lists only display screen names – confusing
little codes not necessarily associated with the individual
online. In addition, the buddy list doesn’t display any
contact information you’ve accumulated about a given person.
With PresenceWorks, businesses are no longer limited to
buddy lists -- the presence information of unlimited business
contacts can be displayed right within your company's software,
along with all the contact data you already possess. With this
capability, you can automatically tailor your messages to your
customers, constituents or clients at the very moment they are
available and receptive.
